Below is a list of some of the more frequently asked questions our customers and those interested in our products have had for us. We hope this is helpful information in order to provide a better purchasing decision when considering our products. VISION PEALRS QUESTIONS
The Black, Blue and Green colors were the original colors when Virberu Sports first came out with the Vision Pearls concept in 2010. In 2021, we added Yellow, Orange and Purple colors. Each color has a specific shade to not look to similar to one of the other colors. 6 colors reduces the likelihood of players just guessing and correctly identifying the colored ball used in the training drill. No Red color has been created because the Red seams on the baseball when spinning help conceal the other 6 colors until the Vision Pearl is up in the batter's hitting zone (live batting practice) or fielder's glove (regular fielding drills).
Virberu Sports first believed in the concept that a design can be created and a single color can be placed on a baseball with that design so that when that said baseball is thrown in live batting practice the color will not be detected by the batter until the said baseball is up in the batter's hitting zone - and the batter will see the said color as more of a "color blur" rather than a colored object on the baseball. Dozens of designs were tested to identify a single design that would indeed fulfill this concept. Virberu Sports concluded this "eyeball-shaped" design of Lines and Dots was the optimal design to fulfill the requirements of the concept we were seeking. No matter how the Vision Pearl is thrown as either a 2-Seam or 4-Seam fastball, this concept is fulfilled for the majority of batters at all levels of skill, youth to the professional level. This concept also works for fielding drills as no matter how the Vision Pearl is spinning it comes up to the fielder's glove as "color blur". In the near future, we will slightly modify the eyeball-shaped design to include less volume in the lines and dots for advanced vision training challenge.
Yes. All levels of baseball athletes can enhance their vision skills by using Vision Pearls in their various hitting and fielding drills. The Dots are positioned perfectly for a contact target in Tee Drills. The Vision Pearls design provides the ideal amount of color for vision training and decision-making training in intermediate baseball movement drills. Finally, the Vision Pearl design has a built in "color blur" detection adjustment with respect to the skill level. For example, in live batting practice the linear speed and rotational speed of the pitched Vision Pearl will match the skill level of the batter. Early level players have slower pitch speeds and the more advanced players have faster pitch speeds, so the "color blur" ends up not being detected by the batter until just at the right time - when the Vision Pearl is up in the batter's hitting zone.
FAST-BALLS QUESTIONS
The 2-Seam (2S) FAST-Ball has the black color on the perimeter of the ball with a "1-inch white ring" down the middle of the baseball perfectly crossing 2 seams at the most narrow part of one of the leather panels. When imparted into the air accurately, the White ring will be clearly displayed. The 4-Seam /Position Player (4S/PP) FAST-Ball has the black color on exactly half the ball with the other half remaining white, similar to a "Half Moon" image. The border between the Black and White color crosses perfectly down the middle of the baseball crossing all 4 seams. When imparted into the air accurately, a Half Black / Half White baseball will be clearly displayed.
Yes. All levels of baseball players can enhance their pitching and throwing skills by using FAST-Balls in their various pitching and/or throwing drills. The professional-grade and game quality of the FAST-Balls with respect to the surface of the baseball allows for a natural transition to a regular baseball. Players at all levels need to have command and control when pitching a fastball or throwing the baseball to their desired target. Young baseball players can use FAST-Balls to develop a solid 2-seam and 4-seam fastball, or strong throwing ability, early in their baseball career and build the foundation to power them to their maximum level of attainment. More advanced baseball players can retain their skills and always have a training aid for immediate correction when needed. Finally, FAST-Balls are great warm-up aids for practice or before a game for any level player.
GENERAL QUESTIONS
Better Baseball Player is a sporting goods and sports training company that implements innovative ideas to train athletes specifically in the areas of vision skill development. Better Baseball Player, formerly Virberu Sports, was founded in 2010 by former and current coaches of multiple sports – predominantly football and baseball. We have many years of successful experience in developing vision skills of athletes at all levels so they can reach their maximum level of athletic ability which helps their teams maximize success. We recently commercialized some baseball vision training ideas into professionally manufactured training aids: Vision Pearls and FAST-Balls.
We can provide limited samples for program, academy and league leadership to gain experience with the use of the training aids. We understand these training aids may need to be tested in terms of quality and function before mass purchases are completed. We value and look forward to working with each customer interested in our products to identify best way for them to benefit from their use.
For serious inquiries we can conduct training demonstrations for coaches, leagues, or hitting academies within the Midwest region. We are available for coaches clinics anywhere in the US. For coaches that have purchased Vision Pearls or FAST-Balls, we can go to your practice or location for a training session at $100 per session assuming the session is 2 hours or under. Of course, call or email for any special requests with respect to a product demonstration - we will do all we can to work something out.
First, the main competition are homemade versions of these training product ideas. Homemade creations of these types of training aids vary and are less likely to provide the resulting skill development that will be transferred to improved game performance. Second, other companies that are manufacturing these type of training aid products have less quality designs and their baseballs are not game-quality. Vision training with products and platforms that are centered around computer simulation, general hand-eye coordination and quickness development, or anything not using the baseball has much lower likelihood of gaining skills that will actually lead to improved baseball game performance. With that in mind, Vision Pearls and FAST-Balls are manufactured with the ideal designs, best color shades, best color application for long-lasting durability. The baseballs themselves have game-quality rubber-cork core interior composition and game-quality true leather covers for FAST-Balls and high-quality, synthetic leather covers for Vision Pearls. Using these baseball training aids in your practice sessions will indeed lead to improved vision and overall baseball skill enhancement leading to improved game performance.
